Something new popping up on the cultural horizon! Some people just seem to have the knack for gathering all the starlight in the universe and pouring it into their careers; life’s work. It’s exactly people like this who will be guests in my home (Ag. Fanourio Road, Parikia). They will be sharing their unique journeys, offering a small audience (maximum 20) a convivial evening incandescent with inspiration.

RONIT RUBIN

In winter 2001 my husband and I and our two young children left Israel and moved to Paros Island to build Tao’s Center. It was an ambitious project we were excited to start.
I left behind a successful career as a journalist and editor of a daily news program on TV. Together with two other young families, the goal was to build a meditation center devoted to peace and self-development, along with an Asian restaurant.
We were the generation that experienced the ongoing war in Lebanon, the Gulf War and the assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin… young people searching for an alternative lifestyle and new ideas of self-awareness and wellbeing.
At the time, many people thought our move was crazy. We had no model to follow and met many obstacles and unexpected twists along the way.
It’s been a 25 year journey of joy, discovery, accomplishment, and sometimes heartbreak too… a journey that sometimes feels like it just began.
