The exhibition “FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026” was born out of a journey shared by people, a journey that began
in 1995 and continues to this day. A journey that brings together artists, friends, collectors and visitors through a shared experience: the belief that art can create relationships that endure through time.

I. THE JOURNEY
The exhibition “FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026” was born out of a
journey shared by people. A journey that began in Chania in 1995, matured in
Santorini and continues today in Paros.
It is not the story of a place, nor of a gallery. It is the story of a community of
people who came together through art and, over time, formed relationships that
proved stronger than distance and the changing places along the way.
In 1995, Nikos Grafas and Manousos Chalkiadakis founded the Tzamia-
Krystalla Art Gallery in Chania. There, they created a space that very quickly
transcended the conventional boundaries of a gallery. It became a meeting place
for artists, collectors, friends of the arts and people seeking a meaningful
dialogue with contemporary Greek art.
This journey continued in Santorini, where, for almost two decades, the gallery
developed a creative dialogue with an international audience. The original vision
matured, expanded and acquired new dimensions, while always remaining true
to the values on which it was founded.
Today, that same journey continues in Paros, through t.k. place Art Gallery.
Not as a new beginning, but as the next chapter in a story that continues to
evolve. Paros is not the epilogue to this journey; it is the place where the
encounter continues and takes on new momentum.
II. MEMORY
The exhibition “FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026” is dedicated to the
memory of Nikos Grafas, who, together with Manousos Chalkiadakis,
founded the Tzamia-Krystalla Art Gallery in Chania in 1995, laying the
foundations for a journey that continues to this day.
This dedication is a sincere tribute to a man who believed deeply in the power of
art to bring people together, to nurture relationships of trust and to create
communities that endure through time.
At the same time, the exhibition honours the shared vision that was born in
1995 and continues to find expression through the enduring presence and
creative contribution of Manousos Chalkiadakis. The journey they began
together does not belong solely to the past; it continues to evolve, remaining
true to the values that shaped it.
Memory, in this exhibition, is an act of continuity. It is the force that connects
yesterday with today and creates the conditions for tomorrow. It is the
recognition that people may no longer be present, yet the imprint they leave on
the lives of others, on relationships and on creativity continues to exist and to
inspire.
With this dedication, “FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026” honours one
man, acknowledges a shared journey and affirms that the values upon which it
was built continue to guide its next chapter.
III. THE ENCOUNTER
Each artist participating in “FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026”
represents a distinct chapter in this journey.
Some have been fellow travellers from its earliest steps. Others joined along the
way. Others still came to know it through new collaborations that have emerged
in recent years. Yet all are connected by something deeper than their
participation in an exhibition: their relationship with a community built on trust,
mutual respect and a profound belief in the power of art.
The exhibition does not attempt to tell a single story, nor does it seek to propose
a common visual language. On the contrary, it highlights the individuality of
each artist, allowing the works to enter freely into dialogue with one another and
to reveal the unexpected relationships that emerge when different voices share
the same space.
This encounter is, at the same time, a meeting of generations, experiences and
individual journeys. It is evidence that art can create bonds that transcend time,
distance and difference, keeping alive the possibility of dialogue.
“FROM CHANIA TO PAROS 1995–2026” does not bring a journey to an end.
It carries it forward.
