The Cultural Association of Prodromos "Skopas the Parian" joyfully invites you to the traditional panigiri of Saint John the Forerunner (Ayios Yannis of Prodromos), which will take place on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, in the square of Agios Spyridonas, in Prodromos.
The evening will open with a revival of the Klidonas tradition, followed by a performance by our Association's traditional dance groups, after which we will all celebrate together with traditional island music.
Note:
Klidonas (Κλήδονας) is one of the oldest and most atmospheric midsummer customs in Greece, celebrated on the eve of St. John the Baptist's feast day — the night of 23 to 24 June. It sits at the intersection of Christian tradition and far older pagan midsummer rites, and has survived with remarkable vitality in the Cyclades.
