Despotiko

Off the southwest coast of Antiparos lies Despotiko, an uninhabited islet rich in history and mystery. Once a major religious centre of the Cyclades, it is home to the impressive ruins of an Archaic sanctuary dedicated to Apollo. Today, visitors can explore ongoing excavations, marble column fragments, and ancient altars—set against a backdrop of wild beauty and untouched Aegean landscape. Despotiko offers a rare glimpse into the sacred past of Paros.
